INTO MY EARTH

I can feel you bloom into my earth,

across the hardened soul where the soil thirsts.

Was it just motions or affection that we made?

The roots grow strong now that you've stayed.

Check just our needed moments, when all other ties were broken.

Intensity excites the fight, til softer words were spoken.

And how the time just lingered on,

lost Sunday morning made up what was gone.

How can we move forward stuck in this ground,

but your breathe is my calming sound.

Tried to make one step away, but dedication fills this empty tray

Roots grow like a noble oak, slither around your neck and choke.

Will I still see you when efforts run dry?

I'm trapped up in this garden growth,

wrapped up in these vines.

I used to believe in silent dreams.

Sharing was a weaker man's desperate screams.

But now my world shows like I know you,

I'm scared to leave and start somethin' new.

Tighter pull just fills with hurt, all your strength in just one jerk.

A lonely heart is never whole, roots wrap round the worn down soul.

Will I still see you when the winds die down?

A strong breeze will dry a soul it seems,

and tear the roots right from the ground

And I can feel you bloom into my earth,

between these cracks where the living hurts.

I won't ask you how your lovers change,

but I'll weed this garden if you'll still remain.

Tried to make one step away, but dedication fills an empty tray,

Roots grow like a noble oak, slither around your neck and choke

Will I still see you when the winds die down,

Strong breeze will dry a soul it seems,

tear the roots from the ground.
